End-of-Season Round-Up

As we wrap up another unforgettable skittles season, here’s a summary of the highlights, stats, and moments that made us laugh, cheer, and sometimes wonder if the pins were secretly glued down:

  1. Individual and Team Stats:

    • Congratulations to the winners of each category in the individual stats for each league—your precision and skill are unmatched (except by those pesky pins that just wouldn’t budge).

    • Some ties across Divisions 1 and 3 prove that even when we’re rivals, we can’t help but share the glory.

    • Team stats for the league are also included—ideal reading material if you’re looking to settle friendly debates, or just show off.

    • As always, feedback is welcome! If you hear any interesting thoughts about the tables, stats, or that one match where physics clearly took a day off, please let me know!

  1. Season Comparisons & Observations:

    • The shiny new pins introduced last summer may look innocent, but don’t be fooled—they’ve made the game harder for even the most seasoned skittler's. Here’s the proof:

      • Average pins per game: 233 this season, compared to 242 last season—down 9 pins per game (those pins are clearly training in evasive maneuvers).

      • Average leg per game: 38.9 this season, compared to 40.3 last season—a drop of 1.4 pins per leg (don’t worry, it’s not us, it’s the pins).

      • Total spares: 524 this season, versus 787 last season—down 263 spares! Division 1 did have fewer games due to only 9 teams, but still, it seems the pins were having a “no spares allowed” policy.

      • Highest total pins in any game: Interstella with 289 pins, down from last season’s 314 by Great Balls of Fire. The new pins are clearly doing their job of humbling us all.

  1. A Season to Remember:

    • Despite the tricky new pins, it’s been a fantastic season filled with twists, turns, and moments where we all questioned the laws of physics. Title races and relegation battles kept us on the edge of our seats, proving that skittles is as much about strategy and teamwork as it is about getting lucky with a well-aimed throw.

    • A big thank-you to everyone who played, supported, organized, and cheered—whether you got a flopper or a spare or narrowly avoided the gaps, you’ve made this season truly special.

Looking ahead to next season, let’s embrace the challenges, the rivalries, and, of course, the hilarious mishaps that remind us why we enjoy this social game. Here’s to more laughs, cheers, and perhaps a few pins that finally decide to cooperate!
